Raptor Route: Your Guide to Moab’s Newest Trail System

The Raptor Route is an exciting network of four distinct trails: Eagle Eye, Hawk’s Glide, Falcon Flow, and Kestrel Run.

Eagle Eye, the highest point of the Raptor Route, opened in November 2021. It’s 2.3 miles long, and you can access it from the LPS trailhead on Sand Flats Road.

Opened in November 2022, Hawk’s Glide is the newest and most advanced section of the Raptor Route, spanning two miles. Expect cliff exposure and technical sections, along with epic views of the La Sals, Abajo, and Henry mountain ranges.

Falcon Flow makes up the lower section of Raptor Route and is 5.7 miles long. By Moab standards, this is a true intermediate trail with nothing overly technical.

Kestrel Run opened in the Fall of 2023 and is two miles long, completing the Raptor Route Trail System.

Extending Your Ride: UPS Full & Lower Section

If you’re looking to ride a bit more, a short pedal from the drop-off point leads to the access trail for UPS (Upper Porcupine Singletrack). This allows you to ride one of the seven trails that comprise the Whole Enchilada trail system.

Accessing UPS

  • Lower UPS: Pedal 0.25 miles from the drop-off point toPorcupine Rim Campground.
  • Entire UPS: (Upper, Middle, Lower):
    • Pedal 1.2 miles up the road to the Kokopelli Trail entrance.
    • Continue an additional 1.7 miles to the UPS trailhead.
    • Note: This option adds 3 miles and 600 feet of climbing.

Exit UPS at stop sign #3 (LPS/UPS connector) and connect to Eagle Eye.

Parking for Raptor Route

We suggest parking at the Kestrel Run Parking Lot (New Location!). This is your best bet as it saves you a 6-8 mile bike ride back to town after your ride.

Falcon Flow
■ Blue Square - Intermediate

The Falcon Flow trail is an intermediate-level trail in the Sand Flats area between Slickrock and Porcupine Rim Classic. This singletrack MTB trail is a popular intermediate-level ride.

Eagle Eye
■ Blue Square - Intermediate

The Eagle Eye is a short 2.3-mile connector trail off of Sand Flats Road and the Whole Enchilada routes. As part of the Raptor Route, this trail is an alternative to the Lower Porcupine Rim Classic singletrack, known as LPS off of Upper Porcupine Singletrack, UPS.
